“Working with Leesa was like therapy. Hire her. That’s an order.”

Dan Tester, Co-founder of Bolt-On

Co-founders Dan and Will are brilliant at what they do. Design, yep. Digital and tech, yep. And they make the process of working with them easy for anyone who needs their help.

They just needed a bit of help telling the story of their business.

So, we got to work.

We spent a day together workshopping their brand personality, voice, and values.

We got into the bones of their business; what they do, how they do it, and exactly who it’s for.

Then we created a brand story centred around the needs and drivers of their ideal client. The thing driving them, the thing getting in their way, and the thing they’re worrying about on a Tuesday morning.

Then Bolt-On entered the story and gave their ideal client a way to defeat their obstacles and reach their goals, showing off Bolt-On’s skills and expertise while keeping their ideal client front and centre.

This story now informs everything Bolt-On say across all their marketing channels. In a voice that’s unmistakably Bolt-On.

But it was important that prospective clients got to know Dan and Will.

So we developed Bolt-On’s origin story. How they came to be and why they do things the way they do, so that their values resonate with the people they’re trying to reach.

Bolt-On now have a framework for their messaging that informs everything they say everywhere they show up.

Dan and Will no longer have to battle with patchy messaging or over-explaining who they’re for. It’s clear in every single piece of content they put out there, and they’re consistent every time they talk about it.

They also found the whole process itself gave them time and space to get really granular about their offer and their positioning (with someone who has a background in social sciences and knows exactly which questions to ask and where to prod…that’s me, btw).

So now, whenever a prospective client encounters Bolt-On, they get to know Dan and Will before they’ve even picked up the phone.

And because Bolt-On’s value is so clear in their marketing, Dan and Will have a whole lot less work to do by the time they get to the discovery call.
