“I’ve tried so many things like this in the past and ended up feeling more confused. But you’ve made it simple, real and fun. I thought I needed a business coach, but now I realise I just needed to be able to articulate what I do. I feel I’ve actually found something that will help me. This is exactly what I needed. I’m getting emotional!”

Once upon a time, there was a small business owner reading this post…

I see you.

And I know you’ve got something bloody brilliant to offer the world.

You can write words, too, but you know that pretty sentences aren’t enough.

You’re trying to say the thing to the right people and make it interesting and make it memorable, and sometimes it feels like you’re grasping into the abyss whenever you try to create a piece of content!

Maybe you’re getting some engagement on socials, but no one is buying.

Or you want to use email marketing and newsletters but don’t know where to start.

You’ve got loads of value you can pour into a blog, but how the hell do you get people to read them?

I’m also betting the About page on your website is as dull as dishwater and doesn’t reflect your wonderful business at all.

And don’t get me started on all those success stories languishing away in the back of a notepad because you’re not sure how to turn them into proper case studies.

Ultimately, you’ve got a brilliant business, but your messaging isn’t landing. And you haven’t got the budget to hire someone to do it all for you.

Let’s fix that…

The point of your content isn’t to talk about yourself or tell everyone how fantastic you are.

It’s about building relationships.

Every piece of content you put out there is the start, or a continuation, of a conversation with your potential customers.

That conversation should lead to a relationship.

So that when it’s time for your readers to buy the thing they need, you are their obvious go-to person.

For this to work, there are three things you need to show:

  • That you understand them

  • You can solve their problem

  • And you’re the kind of person they’d want to work with

Storytelling does every single one of these things, while being engaging, clear, and memorable. That’s why it’s so powerful for marketing.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • Chapter 1: Why storytelling is mighty, and how it works for marketing to humans.

  • Chapter 2: Getting clear on who you’re talking to and what matters to them.

  • Chapter 3: How to write the origin story for your business while keeping it all about your customers.

  • Creating stories for email marketing, social media, case studies, blogs and newsletters.

  • Chapter 4: The type of writer you are and why this matters.

  • How to build momentum, create tension, provoke curiosity, and do the old show don’t tell.

  • Chapter 5: How to find your stories and what to do if you get stuck.

  • Chapter 6: Some practical stuff about when you can and absolutely cannot make stuff up.

  • Chapter 7: Editing your stories before setting them free into the world!

  • Chapter 8: A little pep talk about the creative process.

You’ll get exercises and examples throughout, and you get lifetime access so you can come back to it as many times as you need to.

This course will teach you:

  • How to get clear on who your ideal customers are and what they care about so that you know exactly what you need to say and why.

  • How to get the attention of those ideal customers and keep it.

  • How to speak to the values that are important to them.

  • How to make complex or abstract ideas relatable so that your message lands without them having to burn brain calories to work it out.

  • And how to show off how brilliant you actually are while keeping it all about them.

You get all this until 5th October for the early-bird price of £197.

Or for £267, you can get the course along with an hour-long 1:1 session with me to go through your stuff.

“I loved the storytelling course; it did a fantastic job of explaining just how powerful stories are in business and how much we can gain from using them.

I liked how it broke down stories for different content types and clearly showed you how to use each one for maximum impact!

I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested in weaving storytelling through their content, and it gives you everything you need to get started!”

REVIEW

“What a thought-provoking course, I loved it!

Normally, courses like these can feel overwhelming, but not this one. I loved the layout and how easy it was to progress through.

There was the right amount of exercises and learning, and each step built naturally on the last. Leesa shares her knowledge and learning with such fun and joy, and it’s an absolute joy to read the content. You can really feel the passion behind what she creates.

What I love most is that I can keep going back whenever I need to rethink or refresh my thinking, so I can continue developing these skills.

Thank you, Leesa, for creating this amazing learning space. It has given me the confidence to keep sharing my stories and showing up as my true self.

Highly recommend, infinite stars for this one!”

But why the hell should you listen me?

Err, did you read the reviews?

I’m joking. I’ll tell you exactly why you should invest your coins in the things I have to say.

First off, I’m The Storytelling Copywriter. It’s kind of my speciality. But here are some other things to prove I know what I’m talking about…

  • I’ve been studying storytelling for over two decades. I’ve got the university degree, and I went to the very prestigious Curtis Brown Creative Academy, taught by a Women’s Prize longlisted author.

  • I’m a published author (you can find me in places like The Guardian Saturday Magazine, The Bee Literary Magazine, EFMD Global, and a bunch of others).

  • I’ve got a background in comms, so I understand how to create and deliver a consistent message.

  • I’ve been an editor and a ghostwriter.

  • I have a master’s degree in social sciences, so I get people and what makes them tick.

  • This is what I do for an actual living.

There’s a reason I created this course…

When I started The Storytelling Copywriter, I realised I had a bit of an unfair advantage over a lot of other solopreneurs.

I’m a copywriter, so I could do all my own content marketing.

So, whenever anyone said, “By Jove, you’ve done well!” (okay, no one ever said By Jove), I felt a bit bad because, like I said, I had the unfair advantage. I already knew exactly how to get my message to land with the people I was trying to reach, so I could grow my business without having to pay anyone to do that bit.

After a while, I kept hearing the same thing from small business owners and solopreneurs…

“I’d love someone to do all this for me, but I can’t afford a copywriter.”

Well, I thought, it wouldn’t take me too long to put some of this stuff in a course.

I was wrong.

It took bloody ages. Over a year, in fact. I’m knackered.

But here it is. Fully baked and ready for you to consume.

A storytelling course for small business owners, virtual assistants, anyone who writes content really.

It’s a lot of the stuff I used to grow my own business, so I reckon it's pretty useful.

The early bird price really does end on the 5th October, though.

So if you like the sound of all this, get yourself in sharpish.

Once you’re in, you get lifetime access and the option of a 1:1 session with me to talk about your stories.

See you inside?

“Leesa’s Once Upon a Sale course clearly sets out how the various aspects of storytelling can be used by anyone to create engaging content that speaks to a potential customer.

Within a few chapters I found myself thinking of my own examples that would relate to my own target audience, which felt empowering, creative, and fun.

The course gave me a good grasp of the overall concepts and has shown me how powerful this approach could be across multiple methods of marketing, and for all kinds of customers and scenarios.”
