Unforgettable words for brands with plans

You’re badass. You’re growing. You need brand messaging that’s as exceptional as you are

Leesa is sitting in a wingback chair, holding a mug of tea, smiling at the camera, face on. There are book shelves full of books in the background.

Hello, I’m Leesa, the storytelling copywriter.

I see you, and I see your problem.

Your hard work is paying off. You’re so damn good at what you do that you’re expanding, hiring new staff, and going after a wider customer base.

That’s bloody brilliant. Only thing is, that old generic messaging just won’t do anymore.

You’ve got some decent copy out there, but you’ve also got this sneaking suspicion that it’s all a bit…patchy.

I get it. When you started out, you were juggling more balls than my sister at that hen do. You just needed to chuck some words up.

But now you’re playing in the big leagues, you can’t get away with saying you unlock and elevate stuff anymore.

An open, empty notebook with a turquoise pen resting on top of it.

The way I see it, you have two options.

You could hire a copywriter to write one thing, for one moment, in one format.

Or you could get a solid brand story nailed down. A foundational narrative that informs every marketing asset you create from here on in. Something that tells you what to say and how to say it everywhere you show up.

I'm a copywriter with a background in social sciences, comms, and leading large teams. I know words, I know people, and I've been studying storytelling for over two decades.

I'll shape your story, write your copy, and get your whole team on the same page. And you won’t have to explain what you do, why you do it, or why you’re good at it ever again. Because everyone will already know.

I can't recommend Leesa highly enough

Why do you need a storytelling copywriter?

A hand holding a pen, poised over a writing pad.

Stories are sense-making.

They’re how we’ve passed information down through the ages because they help us to understand and remember things. Stories help our brains organise complexity.

And because we recognise patterns, we’re more likely to remember something if it’s told through a story.

Where marketing is concerned, you’ve got to grab attention quickly and be engaging enough to keep it.

You’ve also got to say what you need to say without making the reader do any mental gymnastics to figure it out. Because they won’t, of course. They’ll just scroll on by.

And the biggie.
Stories make us feel things.

Two notebooks sat on top of each other, two blue pencils resting on top. There is a keyboard in the background.

They create empathy, they connect people, and they move us to act.

Remember every John Lewis Christmas advert? Like that.

So when you need to be clear, memorable, and make people want to do things, tell a story.

This works for your teams, too.

Whether it’s talking about company culture, hiring new staff, or getting your sales team on the same page. Stories will say the thing in a way that’s engaging, memorable, and moving.

I’ve spent my life obsessed with stories.

I’d love to tell yours.

Leesa has been a fantastic addition to our marketing efforts as our go-to copywriter for the UK market. She often brings fresh perspectives we hadn't considered. She asks smart questions upfront, incorporates feedback efficiently, and communicates clearly throughout projects.

For anyone looking for a copywriter who combines speed, skill, and reliability, I'd definitely recommend Leesa.

Things people sometimes ask

  • Lots of copywriters use stories because they help the brain make sense of things and create meaning.

I call myself the storytelling copywriter because I’ve spent a lot time specialising in this particular area.

I’ve been writing stories ever since I was old enough to hold a pen. My parents got me my very own writing desk when I was 5. Then I went off to university and studied stories proper.

When I started copywriting, it seemed pretty obvious where I should specialise. So, here I am.

Stories organise complex information into patterns the brain can recognise. They also grab attention and keep it. They make things memorable. And they make people feel things.

    In marketing, they are powerhouses.

  • Honestly? I’m a delight.

    No, really.

I love people and I love what I do. Nothing lights me up more than hearing people’s stories, which makes me pretty good at listening.

I’m Welsh though, so I can be quite candid. If I think something isn’t going to work, I’ll tell you (nicely). And I’ll listen when you do the same.

I think communication is essential in all relationships. So, I’ll always keep the comms going between us.

Oh, and I’ve never missed a deadline in my life.

  • I get you. There are a lot of copywriters out there. They all come with things they’re good at, and things they’re not so good at. You need to find the one that’s going to bring the stuff you need.

Here are a few things I like to shout about:

I’ve got a degree in English, a masters in social sciences, and a diploma in social work. So, I know words and I know people.

I’ve worked in comms, and I’ve led large teams. I’ve studied communication and relationships, and I know what it’s like to juggle.

Then there’s the marketing psychology stuff. I’m a published author, and I’ve studied storytelling for over two decades. So, I know of what I speak.

And I’m nice. I hope you are too.

I love building long-term relationships with my clients. I know my business, but you know yours. When we bring the two together, that’s where the magic happens.

If you want to know a bit more about my story, go here.

  • Sorry, but no. I’m really good at what I do, but you know your business better than anyone. I’ll need to spend a bit of time finding out what makes your brand tick.

If it makes you feel any better, think of all the time and focus you’ll save once the work is done.

  • Easy!

Head over to my Book a call page where you can email me, send me a message, or do it old school and phone me.

We’ll arrange a time for an initial chat to talk about what you need. Then I’ll follow up with a proposal for you to think about in your own time.

You’ll always get a clear upfront cost, and we’ll agree completion dates.
